Art Month Sydney
The 2020 iteration of Art Month Sydney (March 6 to 29, 2020) once again offers a program of free exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, studio visits, precinct tours and art parties. This year there will be a series of flagship Art at Night events, where galleries open late in a different part of the city each Friday from 6pm to 8pm, which include curated Art Month walking tours, followed by spectacular Art at Night parties. Art at Night Precinct Events include Paddington & Woollahra (at UNSW Galleries), Waterloo and Green Square (at Artbank), East Sydney (at Firstdraft), Chippendale and Redfern (at The Old Clare Hotel) and Parramatta (at Parramatta Artists’ Studios) – a first for the festival. Art Month Sydney will also invite gallery goers to visit Western Sydney with a special tour of curated events traversing Parramatta and local galleries. Highlight exhibitions in the 2020 Art Month program include Fiona Hall at Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Iwantja Arts Centre artists Nellie Coulthard and Angkuna Baker at APY Gallery, and Kitty Simon Napanangka from Warnayaka Art Centre at Cooee Gallery; and Artbank will mark its 40th anniversary with Sparks will Fly, an exhibition celebrating the creative process.
