Temple of Boom
Temple of Boom is an evocative reimagining of the Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens. Designed by NWMN architect Adam Newman and NWMN lead designer and technical director Kelvin Tsan, the 2022 NGV Architecture Commission expands our understanding of the Parthenon as an enduring architectural and cultural beacon. Gradually transforming with large-scale artworks and murals painted by Australian artists Drez, Manda Lane and David Lee Pereira, Temple of Boom invites audiences to consider the effect of time on architectural structures today. With programs, events and live DJ sets, the site-specific work realises a meeting place for the community to gather, perform and connect. Temple of Boom continues until August 2023.
