Bright
According to Pamela Debrincat, an ArtLife Residency recipient at Footscray Community Arts and curator of their new exhibition, “Bright is about colour, joy and playful freedom.” Bright presents five installations without a defined beginning or end from artists Darren Aquilina, Emily Floyd, Megan Hunter, Prue Stevenson and Thomas Miller. Acknowledging the human need for closeness, the exhibition radically ignites the senses and invites audiences to touch the artworks. The processes of tactile exploration and connection, play and sensory experience contribute to the meaning of the installations and work to rebuild people’s capability to interact and participate. In alignment with the season of spring, Bright encourages and embraces regeneration. The exhibition shows until December 12, 2023.
