The House of Dowse X Jimmy D
The House of Dowse × Jimmy D celebrates The Dowse Art Museum’s collection through the eyes of James Dobson, the Hutt Valley-raised cult designer of label Jimmy D. Curated by Dobson, the exhibition pairs works from the collection with iconic looks from his label’s archive in a playful and considered exploration of his creative influences. The selected collection artworks – heavily featuring photography, queer artists and contrasting forms – reflect various aspects of both designer and fashion label, which has consistently moved beyond the mundane to stranger realms. The House of Dowse × Jimmy D continues until March 30, 2025.
