My Country
The Country Road + NGV First Nations Commissions project pairs emerging Indigenous artists and designers from each state and territory with esteemed industry mentors, also Indigenous, in recognition of the vital role that knowledge transfer plays within Indigenous culture. The biennial mentorship and exhibition program was inaugurated this year, with the theme and exhibition My Country. During the course of the year- long commission period, each of the emerging artists have developed and realised their most ambitious works to date, under the guidance of their mentors. These are now being presented in a major exhibition at The Ian Potter Centre. My Country continues until August 4, 2024.
