Olafur Eliasson: Your Curious Journey
Auckland Art Gallery is host to Aotearoa’s first solo exhibition of Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. Addressing human perception, experimentation and environmental issues across 30 years of installations, sculptures and photographs, Your Curious Journey is commentary on both natural phenomena and the ways different people observe them. Drawing poignant parallels between Aotearoa’s geographic relationship to Antarctica with his native Iceland’s relationship to the Arctic Circle, Eliasson’s work encourages dialogue about human impact on the environment. Following its presentation at the Singapore Art Museum, and prior to visiting other significant institutions in the Asia Pacific region, Your Curious Journey continues at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki until March 23, 2025.
