Ever Present: First Peoples Art of Australia

Ever Present: First Peoples Art of Australia has its final showing at home following a national and international tour. The exhibition comprises over 260 works by more than 200 artists drawn from the national collection and The Wesfarmers Collection of Australian Art. This significant survey of historical and contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art is organised by seven overarching and interconnected themes: Ancestors + Creators, Country + Constellations, Community + Family, Culture + Ceremony, Trade + Influence, Resistance + Colonisation, and Innovation + Identity. Celebrating the ever-present existence of Australia’s First Peoples, the exhibition explores the violent recent history of this ancient lan and disputes outdated myths about the oldest continuous living culture in the world. Ever Present continues until August 24, 2025.
