Louvre Couture. Art and Fashion: Statement Pieces

Placing works from the Department of Decorative Arts in dialogue with key pieces of contemporary fashion history from 1960 to 2025, the Louvre’s Art and Fashion exhibition illustrates the close ties between the two. The loaned pieces from 45 of the most emblematic houses and designers in fashion today – from Chanel to JW Anderson – were selected for their varied resonances with the history, craftsmanship and shifting styles of decorative arts. Together with the Louvre’s collection pieces, they give rise to narratives of inspiration, references, innovations and more. While the exhibition is structured around seven main historical pieces, its footprint is vast, covering almost 9000 square metres. Louvre Coutre. Art and Fashion: Statement Pieces opened on January 24 and continues until July 21, 2025.
