HORIZON FESTIVAL 2026
Horizon Festival returns as the Sunshine Coast’s flagship arts event, marking its 10th anniversary with a celebration exploring the intersections of art, people and place across Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country. Presented by Sunshine Coast Council since 2016, Horizon invites audiences to connect, wander and wonder through contemporary art, music and performance shaped by community authorship, and grounded in respect for Traditional Owners as the first artists and storytellers. The 2026 program features over 30 events spanning First Nations-led cultural gatherings, visual and performing arts, live music, food experiences and family- focused encounters, with highlights including large-scale First Nations performances and gatherings on Country, immersive dining experiences led by Indigenous chefs, site- responsive performance works in Nambour and the Glass House Mountains, and exhibition projects foregrounding local and diasporic voices. Horizon continues to strengthen the Coast’s reputation as a vital contemporary arts destination and runs from May 1 to 10, 2026.
