RAPHAEL: SUBLIME POETRY

The Met will present Raphael: Sublime Poetry, the first major international loan exhibition in the United States dedicated to the Renaissance master Raffaello Santi. Bringing together more than 200 works from over 30 lenders, the exhibition traces Raphael’s meteoric rise from Urbino to Florence to papal Rome, where he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Leonardo and Michelangelo. Visitors will encounter defining masterpieces such as The Alba Madonna and Portrait of Baldassarre Castiglione, reunited with rare preparatory drawings and seldom-seen tapestries, prints, and designs that reveal the full breadth of Raphael’s intellect, poetry, and innovation. Raphael: Sublime Poetry runs March 29 to June 28, 2026.
