MoMA PS1 FREE ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT
From January 1, 2026, MoMA PS1 is offering free admission to all visitors for 3 years, marking the museum’s 50th anniversary and making it New York City’s largest free museum. Made possible by a gift from creative entrepreneur Sonya Yu, the initiative removes financial barriers and invites wider audiences to engage with contemporary art, including the landmark exhibition Greater New York, opening April 16, 2026, as well as the full slate of anniversary programming. The move builds on PS1’s longstanding commitment to accessibility, community and experimentation, complementing recent initiatives such as language access in English, Spanish and Chinese, and strengthened local partnerships. “This transformative support allows audiences from across New York and beyond to experience the power of art and its capacity to inspire, connect, and challenge,” said Director Connie Butler.
