Rising Voices: Contemporary Art from Asia, Australia and the Pacific
In a significant partnership between Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art and London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, Rising Voices: Contemporary Art from Asia, Australia and the Pacific brings important works from the QAGOMA Collection to an international audience. With more than 70 pieces by 40 artists, this landmark collaboration showcases decades of involvement through the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, highlighting the diversity and complexity of contemporary practices across the region. Developed over several years, the exhibition captures the curatorial ethos that has shaped the Triennial since 1993: a dedication to broad definitions of art, the vibrancy of living cultural traditions and the importance of First Nations perspectives. Rising Voices acts as both a translation and an amplification, connecting stories across different places and offering global audiences a deeper understanding of the cultural influences shaping art in the Asia Pacific today.
