Schiaparelli: Fashion becomes Art
Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art is the UK’s first exhibition dedicated to the groundbreaking designer Elsa Schiaparelli, whose collaborations with artists ignited the relationship between fashion houses and art. Covering the 1920s to the present, the exhibition explores the bold vision of the designer, ‘Schiap’, from the colour ‘Shocking Pink’ to the house’s modern haute couture revival under creative director Daniel Roseberry, who recently dressed Margot Robbie in a stunning gown for the Wuthering Heights red carpet. The display features garments that showcase her early work with Salvador Dalí, alongside pieces by Picasso, Cocteau and Man Ray, as well as accessories, artworks and archival items that emphasise the designer’s lasting impact. Until November 8.
